General Introduction.

Early 1975, the government of Brunei Darussalam formed a High Level Executive Committee known as Brunei Arts and Handicrafts Training Centre Committee. The function of the Committee was to implement the policies and programmes to revive the almost disappearing arts and handicrafts of master craftsmen and women weavers.

Objectives

• To encourage people to be active in the production of Brunei arts and handicrafts, with facilities provided by the Centre.
• To provide the necessary training for Brunei youths who are interested in arts and handicrafts of Brunei.
• To popularize arts and handicraft products and to encourage sales.

First course-related visit to Brunei Arts and Handicrafts centre by 3rd year student of Academy of Brunei studies taking the AB 3206 Brunei Traditional Industry Course.
